Prenatal Group Meetings at the Birthing House
Prenatal group meetings at the Birth Center are offered by our team of midwives’ assistants in person, from 28 weeks of pregnancy.
There are three (3) prenatal and one (1) postnatal meeting. These meetings are intended to inform you, to give you tools, to ask all your questions and to make you feel confident for the arrival of your baby. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other parents. It is a place of exchange and sharing where the presence of the partner and/or support person is expected.
Here is the program of these meetings:
Prenatal meeting 1 - Physiology of childbirth and transfers
Prenatal meeting 2 - Preparation for childbirth (pain management)
Prenatal meeting 3 - The fourth trimester (first 3 months postnatal) and breastfeeding
Postnatal meeting 4 - Sharing birth experiences and introducing babies! Discussion on postnatal experience, breastfeeding and adaptation to parenthood. (This meeting takes place at least 4 weeks postpartum.)
Sibling preparation meeting - Sharing period (preparation of elders, preparation for a second birth, preparation for the experience of taking care of one more child) which is aimed at parents who already have one or more children.
